Synth mode has been designed to enable you to create rich, complex sounds with samples, quickly and easily.
The mapping and playback settings are set automatically so you can focus more on exploring and manipulating samples, to create playable instruments.
Mapping
- Samples are automatically mapped across your keyboard, meaning Connect Pro will play them back at different pitches, depending on which key you hit.
- The root note of the sample, or in other words, which key the original pitch corresponds to, is determined by its key metadata, if it has any. If not, it will map to C by default. You can change the root note and the root octave on the Samples tab.
- This works in conjunction with other parameters in the plugin that also control pitch, so you may prefer to change it elsewhere, but it can be helpful to set the correct root key (if there is one) so when you hit a note on your keyboard, you know that’s actually the note playing back.
*Tip - turn on an Oscillator to easily tune your samples by ear - match the pitch of the oscillator and you’re good to go.
Layers
You can choose up to 3 layers in synth mode, in order to stack sounds together to create richer, more complex instruments.
- Select a coloured pad at the top to see all the parameters and controls for that layer.
